Cremation Joan Parsons

David Bridge (Living Family info validation)

Notes

  • Joan Parsons was cremated due to a Gravediggers strike occurring at time of her death, this caused much animosity towards the Bridge family from the Parson sisters who stated "Parsons are always buried" (lot of good that was during a Gravediggers strike that had been going on for weeks/months). During the drive to the Crematorium flowers fell off the hearst whilst driving along Rainham Road South, Dagenham and the Funeral Directors (West & Coe ) had to stop and pick them up. Mr West the Funeral Director was a personal friend of Joan's Husband Bill, whom Bill knew through the Boy Scouts movement which Mr West & Bill assisted at. With hindsight (and if one believed in ghosts /spirits) one could almost say that Joan had pulled them off herself to further stir the animosity that existed already.
